Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet

Bandai Namco Entertainment has unveiled some new information pertaining to Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. That information includes a new character, Bazalt Joe, as well as details on the online multiplayer, the Gun and Sword equipment, and more. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is set to launch very soon on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It will launch on February 8th in Japan, and on February 23rd in North America and Europe.

Having just been invited to the virtual reality MMO, Gun Gale Online, by your childhood friend/heroine, Kureha, you log in for the first time. Soon you catch the eye of many other players, after an ArFA-sys (a rare support AI) falls into your possession. Another ArFA-sys support AI fell into the possession of a heroine named Zeliskam. You now need to beat the newly unlocked space ship area, SBC Fluegel, and to do so you must travel the world with Kirito and company.

Basalt Joe

Basalt Joe is a top ranked player who takes a liking to your ArFA-sys and challenges you to many matches. He is persistent until he achieves victory, but also has good sportsmanship. He is courageous and helpful, and that makes him well-liked within his squadron. Basalt Joe is voiced by Rikiya Koyama.

Kirito Mode

As you progress, you will eventually unlock Kirito Mode. This mode allows you to play as Kirito instead of the main protagonist. Kirito Mode features a different story from the main campaign, as well. This mode also features exclusive “Co-Sleeping” scenes. Argo has also been revealed as a co-sleeping partner in the game.

The Gun and Sword Equipment

The “Gun and Sword” is the gun and Kagemitsu (light sword) that was wielded by Kirito in the Sword Art Online anime’s “Phantom Bullet” story arc. To unlock this equipment, players will need to clear a certain event while playing as Kirito. This superior equipment set is good for both close and long-range combat, and also has exclusive skills to go with it.

Overview of Online Play

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet’s online gameplay features 4-on-4 team battles and deadly boss fights that one player alone cannot defeat.

In the online coop mode, as many as eight characters (4 players) can take on powerful enemies together. Buff-type skills such as HP recovery, ally stat boosts, and enemy stat de-buff type skills will be very important if you want to win. Players will want to plan their roles before the team enters the fray.

Clearing objectives in the online coop mode will net you rare items. These can be used to strengthen weapons (at Lisbeth’s Workshop) or to strengthen your character by creating costumes (at Asuna’s Costume Quests). The online coop mode also has time attack quests where players compete to take down enemies the quickest. You will need to strengthen your character and master skills to make it to the top of the time attack rankings. In the coop mode’s lobby, you can use emotes like waving and nodding, as well as voice chat. Players can also show off their custom avatar and ArFA-sys.

In the online 4-on-4 team battles, players will be divided into Team Alpha and Team Bravo. They will need to anticipate the actions of the opposing team, as well as those of the target enemies. Players will have to be nimble to deal with attacks from both the opposing team and the dangerous boss enemy simultaneously.

Avatar Customization

When it comes to customizing your avatar, there are a myriad of parts to choose from. They include gender (such as your figure), face, voice, hairdo, and more.

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
