Mighty Gunvolt Burst | Rivals DLC Banner

Back when it first released, I rather enjoyed Mighty Gunvolt Burst. It was a delightful mixture of Mighty No. 9 and Azure Striker Gunvolt that gave you two protagonists to play as, a hefty challenge and a ton of variety in how you customized your attacks. While some aspects of the game were a bit unexplained, it was still a lot fun and provided a solid game experience.

As of tomorrow, Inti Creates has announced that it is getting update version 1.3, with DLC titled Rivals. This DLC will let you play as a trio of rival characters from Mighty No. 9, Azure Striker Gunvolt and even Gal*Gun! The characters you’ll be able as are the monstrous RAY, the high flying Copen and the diabolical Kurona. Each character plays totally differently, which should provide a ton of replay value.

Additionally, in honor of Mighty Gunvolt Burst reaching 80,000 downloads, Inti Creates is offering a fancy new wallpaper, which you can download by going here.

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of retro games, and I hope you all check out Mighty Gunvolt Burst, or if you already own it, take a gander at the Rivals DLC starting tomorrow. And if you’re not sure about the new DLC, feel free to try the free demo first, which will provide a few levels to try out and also let you transfer your data to the full version, along with playable character Ekoro!
