Oprainfall Halloween | Day 8 | Splatterhouse 3

Welcome to oprainfall’s 31 Days of Halloween. Every day we will be looking at a different anime, manga, or game series and spotlighting it. They don’t necessarily have to be in the horror genre, but they must have left an impact on us using those techniques.

Taking a look at the last 2D Splatterhouse game, Splatterhouse 3, and how Namco mixed up the formula for the third entry in the series. Having switched from being a side scrolling punch fest, to a beat em up with non linear elements.

Time limit in games is a pretty tricky thing to pull off. Splatterhouse is a great IP. I wouldn’t mind if they made another game in the series. The 3D one was a bit strange, but I still liked it.
