Etrian Odyssey V - Beyond the Myth

Etrian Odyssey V – Beyond the Myth just got two more class trailers and a press release about them. They show off both the Rover and the Necromancer classes.

The Rover class specializes in ranged attacks, pelting enemies from the back line with hard hits. The Rover class also has a strong knowledge of nature, allowing them to get help from animals for both offensive and defensive support. This knowledge is also very handy for special quests involving the exploration of uncharted territory. Here is the trailer for the Rover class:

Members of the Necromancer class aren’t the best at direct combat, but they can summon wraiths to fight for them instead. These wraiths can dish out hurt on your foes and absorb damage from them, but they’re more useful than that. You can sacrifice them for a number of reasons, such as to heal your party, increase the party’s magic strength, and disable enemy defense for several turns. Here is the trailer for the Necromancer class:

Additionally, the Etrian Odyssey V – Beyond the Myth Demo is now available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. It allows you to create any party you want using all classes, however you can only explore the tree up to the third floor and with a level cap of 10.  Parties and progress in the demo will transfer into the full game once you have it.

ATLUS has also put up a preview webpage for the 24-page Art Book that comes with the launch edition of the game. Etrian Odyssey V – Beyond the Myth Launch Edition also comes with a 6-track soundtrack CD, and an outer box adorned with the Yggdrasil tree and eager adventurers.

Etrian Odyssey V – Beyond the Myth is set to release on October 17th with a price tag of $39.99. The game is rated “T for Teen” by the ESRB. You can find out more about the game at the Official Etrian Odyssey V Website.

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
