Raiden V: Director's Cut

 

PQube have announced that Raiden V: Director’s Cut, the legendary shoot ’em up series’ next installment, is coming in early October. It will arrive on PlayStation 4 in Europe on October 6th. The series has been a trailblazer in the arcade shoot ’em up genre for 27 years full of crazy bullet-dodging action. Here’s the trailer PQube released to show off Raiden V: Director’s Cut:

 

Raiden V: Director’s Cut takes players to the skies of some real-world locations like New York, Paris and London. This is a first for the series. The fully narrated campaign sees the Raiden supersonic attack fighter squad scrambling to stop an alien threat. The planet’s most powerful weapons, capable of planetary destruction, have been taken over by alien’s known as the Cranassians.

The Director’s Cut edition adds a local 2-player cooperative mode, and some new exclusive levels to bring you more intense action. It is releasing in both physical and digital forms, along with a Limited Edition that will also include the exclusive Soundtrack CD. Other features include:

  • Updated HD Graphics – Full 1080p support brings every explosion, missile attack, and overpowering boss encounter to life like never before!
  • Tri-View HUD – Stay on top of the action as real-time score tracking and command center information continuously update you on the situation during gameplay!
  • Cheer Attack – Build up your Cheer meter through cheering fellow players and destroy your enemies with a massive missile barrage!
  • Fully Narrated Storyline – Take to the skies of real-life locations for the first time in a thrilling campaign to end the threat of the alien invaders!

  • Health Bars – The days of one hit and you’re dead are gone, but keep an eye on your ship’s health if you want to make it to your final destination!

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in my early 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES and SNES. He loves Nintendo but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks or bike rides, and loves animals.

Michael is also a computer programmer. This started with a toy he got as a kid called PreComputer 1000 that was made by V-Tech. It had a simple programming mode which is what started him down the road of being a programmer! Michael can program in BASIC, Visual Basic, C++, C#, and is familiar with Java and Lua Script.

Putting programming and gaming together, Michael became a hobbyist game developer which may give him some good insights on game development! Most recently, he has been playing with the free version of the Unity engine (a powerful and easy-to-use game engine).

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
