MangaGamer’s panel at this year’s Anime Expo has come and gone, with the usual updates on previously announced titles along with some new announcements. The new announcements contain some particular standouts, representing some new ventures for the company alongside the usual translation of existing visual novels.

The first announcements were relatively brief, starting with a physical release of Umineko When They Cry’s Question Arc and a release date for Princess Evangile W Happiness. Both were made available for pre-order during the panel, with Umineko set to release on August 18 and Princess Evangile slated for July 28. Following these announcements came progress updates on previously announced titles and the secret projects.

The first new announcement was Magical Marriage Lunatics, another game from the developer and artist of the Princess Evangile series. It follows Yuta Ushio, a student who, when he was younger, found himself transported to other worlds. It stopped happening as he got older, but suddenly he finds women from those worlds suddenly living in houses near his own, claiming that he swore to marry them when they first met. The women, along with his childhood friend, then proceed to compete for his affections and hand in marriage. The game will be 18+ and uncensored.

The second announcement was an RPG titled Evenicle from Rance developer Alicesoft. The game’s artwork is done by Nan Yaegashi, the artist for the Senran Kagura series. The game stars Asterisk, a young man living in a world governed by Mother Eve, who enforces monogamy laws within the world. Unfortunately, Asterisk is attracted to twins, and wants to become a heroic knight so he can escape the enforced monogamy and marry multiple women. Evenicle will also be 18+ and uncensored when it releases.

The third announcement was The Most Forbidden Love in the World (Sekai de Ichiban Dame na Koi) from new MangaGamer partner Hermit, and sharing a writer with White Album 2 and Saekano. It’s an older game, originally released in 2007, and features 28-year-old Yoshimura Osamu, who is approached by an attractive woman after losing all his money to drinking, and finds himself living at a boarding house, surrounded by eccentric women. Like the others, this game will be uncensored.

The fourth announcement is something a bit different, with MangaGamer getting to announce an entirely new visual novel that hasn’t even been announced in Japan, with Space Live! Coming from Da Capo series developer Circus, it is set in a future where humanity as a whole has uploaded their consciousnesses onto the internet, known as Net Space, which is divided up into factions led by idols who have a competition every four years to win new followers from each other. MangaGamer described the game as being similar to Hyperdimension Neptunia but with internet browsers instead of game consoles, and the game will focus strongly on different elements of the idols’ careers, such as concerts, venues, and other forms of competition. Space Live! will be all-ages, with ecchi elements.

Koropokkur header

The final announcement was yet another new venture for MangaGamer, with the company announcing its first foray into development. The game they announced has the working title Koropokkur, and will feature character designs by former Key artist Itaru Hinoue. Very little else was announced about the game, with only work-in-progress sketches to show from the development so far, and that it will follow a young fairy striving to become human and fall in love.
