Nintendo promised a new 3DS game reveal in today’s Treehouse Live event, and they delivered with the reveal of Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. It’s a puzzle-rhythm-puzzler that’s all about that Japanese delicacy, under the development of IndieZeros (NES Remix). A trailer below, featuring a very Japanese song, should lay the grounds for what the game is all about.

Across the game’s many missions, you’ll make matches of three sushi plates by swiping them up the screen to similar matches and stacks of plates which you make to damage your opponent. Both sides have three levels of sushi conveyor belts to contend with, but one gold level is shared.

There’s also a suite of power-ups and a special attack meter to fill up in battle, and each level has up to 3-star objectives to keep things fresh. A 2-player mode is also available.

For those who missed the livestream, an archive of the Sushi Striker segment is below.
