You won’t have to wonder when the highly anticipated Super Mario Odyssey will launch this holiday, as Nintendo confirmed an October 27th release date worldwide. The first 3D Mario platformer in four years marks a return to the sandbox-style exploratory gameplay of Super Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine, with some new wrinkles added.

The musical trailer showed highlights of the new Mario, with strange, exotic locales including New Donk City, Tollio and even a dinosaur land, and new power-up hats. Mario can even grant his hat to other creatures to give them his jumping powers. He’ll constantly be hounded by a team of surly rabbits, who are wedding planners hired by Bowser.

Also new to Odyssey are a line of game-specific amiibo that will launch with the game, including Mario, Bowser and Peach in their wedding outfits, along with new Koopa Troopa and Goomba figures. Nintendo says some previously released amiibo will also be compatible. Also, amiibo will unlock support characters and new outfits for Mario.
