When MangaGamer announced a while back they would be localizing ammolite’s Sweet Young Bride, I was very interested right off the bat. They had previously localized another of ammolite’s titles, Sweet Sweat in Summer: The Naughty Girl and Her Ripe Scent which I enjoyed for its petite heroine and decent storytelling. Could this title deliver a similarly good experience or will this be just one crazy Nukige romp? Let’s find out.

The story follows Kouta Misawa, who is a single working man that longs for a cute young wife. He spends a lot of time playing Eroge that contain tiny girls with lots of “Delicious Flat Chests” or DFC. One day as he was waking up after a long night of Eroge bliss, he is greeted at the door by some government agents that tell him he has been chosen for “Government Sponsored Marriage Program”. This program was started due to low birth rates and was put in place to help get couples together to have children. Upon arriving he first lays his eye on his future bride. A young and very petite girl named Hazuki Izayoi. The two of them are immediately married and begin their lives together. But things will not go as planned as one of their pasts has left scars on their heart that may not appear on the surface.

Sweet Young Bride | Hazuki Smile

Overall there isn’t a lot of plot here, pun intended. The game’s entire story is very straight forward and simple. It mostly focuses on the two them getting to know each other through the tons of sex they have. Hazuki is very timid at first but that fades quickly as she becomes quite fond of sex herself.  Their relationship seems quite odd at first because Kouta sometimes comes off as just kind of a sex-crazed dick, but then just after that he will say or do something that lets the reader know he really is in love with Hazuki. While I can’t say that there is anything deep or life changing in this story, I can say that the sex scenes are well written, very erotic and that I thought it was a sweet tale overall that left me with a smile in the end.

The artwork in here is all really well done. The Eroge scenes are all very well illustrated with lots of details. Some of Hazuki’s facial expressions during these are downright adorable, but then again she’s pretty adorable, to begin with, so I guess that’s kind of a given. The are only a few different locales in the game and each background is well represented. Be it the couple’s humble apartment, to their river outing for a swim, these environments add to your overall immersion in this tale. The biggest complaint I have with art in the game is the mosaics, they are very distracting at times and I honestly see no reason for them in an 18+ game. While I understand ammolite may need these for that Japanese market, they are not needed here and very off putting in a game with as many H-Scenes as this one.

Sweet Young Bride | Hazuki Bath

The music in this game is very generic. It’s all mostly light fluffy tracks, which do fit with the overall playful nature of the game. There’s just nothing really special or notable about any of them. Hazuki’s voice actress, however, has one of the cutest voices I’ve ever heard in my life. That sweet voice melted my heart the instant she started talking. The performance she gives adds a lot to this one, without it this would have been much less favorable experience overall. Though I think some of the moans and grunts during the H scenes are repeated too quickly. This wouldn’t have been such an issue if the scenes were shorter, but some of them go on for quite a which can get somewhat distracting.

Sweet Young Bride | Hazuki 3

Overall I can’t say I didn’t enjoy my time with Sweet Young Bride. The price tag is pretty spot on at $14.95 for around 4 hours of content. Though it does have some issues such as the mosaics and the somewhat distracting moans during the H scenes, I still think there is a lot to like here depending on what you expect out of it. If you looking for a Eroge with little story and that has lots of action with an adorable flat chested gal then this is your jam. If you’re a fan of more plot or looking for something with a little richer story you may want to steer clear of this one and wait for a better offering.
