Spellspire

10tons Ltd. is preparing to launch their brand new word game, Spellspire, a bit later this month. The game is coming to Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. You are a tiny wizard questing to reach the top of a 100-floor tower. The gameplay involves a grid containing 10 letters. If you create a valid word, it will shoot out of your wand as a spell blast. Longer words make more powerful magic blasts.

Monsters unfortunate enough to be hit by your magic will drop gold and other loot. This can be used between levels to get wands, hats, and robes that are more potent. Some may feature various special magic effects and abilities, too. The PlayStation 4 and Vita versions of the game will launch on May 23rd (SIEA) / May 24th (SIEE).  The Steam launch is May 23rd, and for Xbox One, the date is May 26th. You can already pre-order the Xbox-One version here. The game also has a lunch discount of -15% from May 5th to June 1st.

Tero Alatalo, CEO of 10tons Ltd. says, “Spellspire is an utterly charming and entertaining game. It’s uniquely thrilling to try to put together words at a feverish pace to blast away a goblins and zombies, and the role playing game aspects of the game work really well as well. It really pays off to figure out the best robes, wands, and items for the toughest levels!”

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
