Vanquish is a fast paced third person shooter which mixes bullet time, jetpacks and over the top weapons that would be right at home in a quake game. Directed by the legendary Shinji Mikami, who is known for creating the likes of Resident Evil and Godhand, and developed by PlatinumGames, the studio behind Bayonetta and Wonderful 101, Vanquish has quite the pedigree to live up to.

There are now rumours that Vanquish will soon be receiving a PC port alongside Bayonetta. So with that in mind, let’s revisit one of PlatniumGames’s more underrated titles and see if it lives up to the legacy of this developer and director.

This analysis is spot on. Vanquish is my second favourite Platinum game even if it was rough around the edges (let’s face it – most of their games are). In terms of environments, those were never a strong point for Platinum. Overall it was a breath of fresh air in the usual sea of slow cover based TPS games.

Vanquish 2 please! Hopefully, if the PC port does well it could lead to more games, like it did for Valkyria Chronicles.
