Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced on the PlayStation Blog that the PlayStation Now service will be officially discontinued on various platforms, most notably the PS3 and PS Vita video game consoles. The following list of systems below will have their service discontinue on 15th August, 2017.

  • PlayStation 3
  • PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV
  • All 2013, 2014, 2015 Sony Bravia TV models
  • All Sony Blu-ray player models
  • All Samsung TV models

Furthermore, Sony have announced that 2016 models of Bravia TVs will have their service discontined sooner on 1st April. Sony are stating the reason is to “further develop and improve the user experience” on the two remaining devices, PlayStation 4 and PC. Sony have advised to customers that do not want to renew to disable auto-renewal in the account settings prior to the shutdown dates, especially in the case of those with 3 month subscriptions where it could be charged months before the shutdown dates automatically.
