AKIHABARA

AKIHABARA

AKIHABARA Feel the Rhythm is a rhythm game that takes you on a musical journey through the Akihabara district in Tokyo. The game just released today on Steam, Android, and iOS. The game is priced at $6.99 on Steam, but currently has a 15% launch discount, knocking the price down to $5.94. The mobile versions are of course cheaper, with a price of $2.99.  The game’s soundtrack is also available for purchase.

You can take on 10 levels in the campaign mode, or go into the single-track mode. This mode lets you play any level you’ve cleared in campaign mode. Completing the campaign will unlock a bonus Midnight Mix mode, containing five mellow remixes. AKIHABARA Feel the Rhythm also has 15 achievements and global, cross-platform leader boards. I’ve never been a fan of online leader boards though, as they tend to be rather pointless. Anyone who has played games with them knows that trying to rise up such a leader board only works for a while. Then it becomes nearly impossible to go any further (also known as a waste of time). Anyway, here’s the trailer for the PC version of the game, but you can check out the mobile trailer in the link below:

Take a musical journey with Callie through Tokyo’s Akihabara district — and groove to the beats to achieve a high score in this original music/rhythm game.

The rules are simple: Time your actions to the rhythm and the Beat Marker as you change icons while jamming to the electro-infused soundtrack before they fill up the grid. Cycle through icons by tapping on your screen (or by pressing the up key or left clicking, depending on your device) as the Beat Marker passes over them on the grid to create matches of three or more. To earn a “Good” or “Perfect” score multiplier bonus, sync your actions to the beat by changing icons **right as the Beat Maker passes over a grid line!**

You can activate the special “Super Icon” by chaining together multiple “Good” and “Perfect” ratings to fill your Super Charge meter. Once triggered, the Super Icon will destroy everything in a 3×3 grid wherever it lands. Want an even bigger challenge? Try increasing the difficulty settings to see if you can move to Akihabara’s rhythm. Harder difficulty settings increase the minimum amount of icons required to trigger a match:

* Easy = 3 icons
* Normal = 4 icons
* Hard = 5 icons

Experience 10 levels of high tempo music in Campaign mode — or enjoy individual levels unlocked during your campaign in Single Track mode. Once you complete the campaign, a special bonus “Midnight Mix” mode will be unlocked with 5 mellow track remixes. Show everyone you’re the ultimate beat master by earning 15 different achievements — and rake in enough points to grab a spot on the cross-platform online leaderboards 🙂

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
