Yōjo Senki | LN Vol 1

The official Twitter account for Yōjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil announced the lead voice actress for the upcoming TV anime. In addition to this, the official Twitter account of Tsutaya (a media chain store) revealed the opening and ending theme songs for the anime.

The official website for the adaptation also confirmed that the show would premiere on January 6 at 10 pm on AT-X. The show is also set to air on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi and BS 11. The official site also streamed a teaser for the upcoming anime. You can check that out below.

Aoi Yūki is set to voice the lead role as Tanya Degurechaff. Yūki has previously voiced characters such as Yuuki Konno from Sword Art Online II and Kayo Hinazuki from ERASED. She is set to sing the ending theme for the anime titled “Los! Los! Los!” The ending single is set to release on February February 22.

MYTH&ROID will perform the opening theme titled “JINGO JUNGLE.” MYTH&ROID had previously performed the first ending theme and second opening theme for Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World-. The opening single for Yōjo Senki is set to release on February 8.

A synopsis for the series is provided by ANN:

The novel series centers on a young girl who fights on the frontlines in war. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and nearly transparent white skin, and she flies through the air and mercilessly strikes down her opponents. Her name is Tanya Degurechov, and she speaks with a young girl’s lisp and commands the army. Tanya used to be one of Japan’s elite office workers, but because of a wrathful god, was reborn as a little girl. Tanya prioritizes optimization and career advancement above all, and she will become the most dangerous entity among the Imperial Army’s mages.

Yōjo Senki is written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. It was first published by Enterbrain in 2013 and currently has 6 volumes released.
