The Wii U production is ending this week. According to sales numbers on September 30th, Nintendo shipped only 13.36 million Wii U consoles, paling in comparison to the 101 million units the Wii sold in the last generation. At its best, the Wii U will ship 240,000 units to retail.

No new details for the Nintendo Switch have been released, and won’t be until January 13th. All we know is that the console will be unable to use Wii U discs.

For as much heat the system gathered due to how it was set-up, I’ll miss this console. Xenoblade Chronicles X and Bayonetta 2 were amazing titles I can recommend. Will the Nintendo Switch be better? Only time will tell.

Sad to see the Wii-U was short lived and ideas of it will probably not follow. I can see the use of Asymmetric Gaming and the use of second screen. But barely being utilize correctly by most devs. A concept like this will probably be revive in the late far future when people are ready for change and finally get out of traditional gaming and control scheme. I mean seriously how long will we entertain ourselves in this current traditional setup. Like the next 50 years. Maybe future generation of people will set the difference, but truly only time will tell. This is something to remember, like many things. *Salute Wii-U*

Remember, remember the 4th of November, the Wii U’s dying spot,
I see no reason why the Wii U treason should ever be forgot.

Referring to the short lifecycle and lack of support and put it in there to resemble the Gunpowder Plot nursery rhyme.

I have a feeling that nostalgia will be strong for this system, like the Gamecube. It had its problems (like a small harddrive), but it had some amazing games on it like Bayonetta 2 and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.

RIP Wii U. It is time to be optimistic for the Switch’s future.

    So much wasted potential.
