Atelier-Firis-23

Gust has posted a few more details about the returning characters in their upcoming alchemy-RPG Atelier Firis: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Journey.

The information tells that Sophie, Oskar, and Plachta, from Atelier Sophie will be making a comeback as playable characters. Additionally, a new character, Drossel, is introduced.

Atelier-Firis-1

Sophie will be assisting Firis in her alchemy. She is currently exploring the world in hopes to learn all she can in order to pass her alchemist exam. During her travels, Sophie meets Firis and they become very close.

Atelier-Firis-2

Plachta and Sophie are best friends. As Sophie is teaching Firis alchemy, Plachta is teaching Sophie. She is very skilled in alchemy and combat.

Atelier-Firis-3

Oskar Behlmer is back and it seems he’s lost a few pounds since the last time we saw him. He has the ability to speak with plants and often runs off ahead of the group to get to the destinations first.

Atelier-Firis-4

Drossel Weissberg easily gets turned around during the parties travels. It’s good that she has her friends around her to lead her back to the path. She is very skilled in combat and has an easy going attitude.

Gust also tells the story of how Firis and Sophie meet: After Sophie and Plachta showed up at Firis’s town. Firis gets the idea to that if she learns alchemy she will be able to leave. Of course this excites Sophie and she takes Firis as her apprentice.

The return of time-based gameplay seems to be back: Firis has to complete the Alchemist Certified Exam within one year. Otherwise, she has to return back to her town.

Turn-based battles are also coming back. Each party member performs an action as the players inputs.

Atelier Firis: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Journey is coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on September 29 in Japan.

Thanks, Famitsu.
