Guilty Gear Dizzy

She is finally here, folks. Dizzy, Ky’s paramore and Sin’s mother, has received a release date announcement. This occurred after the very hype Grand Finals match for Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- at Evo 2016. The Finals saw Machabo with his absurdly dominant Sin go 3-2 over his Western Japan rival Omito and his new technology with the returning cast member, Johnny. After that happened the game’s director,┬áDaisuke Ishiwatari, took the stage for a few announcements. One of them is that there is a character rebalance patch available today. This has been greatly anticipated, as I said in my game review.

But that news was overshadowed by the announcement of Dizzy. Adding onto the hype it was announced that she will be released tomorrow. And just to bring the house down, he also announced she will be free for a limited time. So get online tomorrow and get her quickly. They are still planning on more DLC this fall, so it’s looking like this game will be supported for some time to come. Exciting news for all of us Guilty Gear fans. We’ll keep you updated on all things Guilty Gear here at Operation Rainfall.

About William Haderlie

Born in the 1970's, I've been an avid participant for much of video game history. A lifetime of being the sort of supergeek entrenched in the sciences and mathematics has not curbed my appreciation for the artistry of video games, cinema, and especially literature.

It’s good that she’s free. The other DLC characters didn’t even have an arcade mode (just like Jam) and I was pretty miffed that Kum Haehyun is day 1 DLC along with Raven, who is at least earnable.

    • William Haderlie

They were free, so it didn’t effect my enjoyment much. But not having a story in arcade mode was a bit sad, I agree. Especially since, as I said in my review, Jam is my current main. Not that Arcade mode lasts much longer than the first week for me. But it still would have been nice.

I’m pretty sure the only way to obtain Kum Haehyun is to buy him through the PSN store.

    • William Haderlie

He was free if you pre-ordered.

Forgot about that. He was only a bonus in the US. The UK bonus was Raven.

So is this going to be the definitive edition of the game without them releasing new iterations in the future? I hope they keep all new characters as DLC like this. I don’t like having to buy the same game several times over to play the game online, so I’ve fallen out of buying fighting games as of late.

I would expect a new version in the next 2 years probably. This is Arc System Works. Not that I blame them, Capcom is still getting a lot of grief for their model of players either earning the new content by playing or paying for it. Either way, new content is not free for them to create.
