Satoru Iwata

It’s been one year since the passing of former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. Mr. Iwata passed due to a bile duct growth, sending shockwaves throughout the gaming industry. An unfathomable outpouring of support, tributes and remembrance brought the gaming community together as many mourned the passing of one of the industry’s most influential figures. It’s still hard to believe at times, but there’s no doubt Mr. Iwata left an imprint on the video game industry that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

    This guy was Nintendo – many of the franchises out there would not exist without him. Some of my favorite titles growing up (Kirby and Earthbound) were due to him.
