Sinister1‘s blindfolded run of the NES classic Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! (You can check it out here.) has been a staple of the Games Done Quick charity marathons for a long time. However, at this Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) they decided to shake things up with a blindfolded run of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night by speedrunner, and Twitch TV Charity Events Manager, Romscout.

Romscout managed to beat the game in 1:08:35, which is pretty impressive considering he couldn’t see what he was doing. In a post run interview with Feasel (Find the interview here.), Romscout revealed how he was able to make it through the game without being able to see. Mostly through Castlevania: SotN’s sound design. An aspect of game design that is often overlooked. Apparently, a blind gamer contacted Romscout asking for help in making his own way through the game. So, he plans on routing out a way to finish it blindfolded and without glitches to aid disabled gamers who just want to casually play.

Summer Games Done Quick is a yearly charity marathon lasting about a week accepting donations for Doctors Without Borders(Médecins Sans Frontières). If you’re just know hearing of this, don’t worry. You can still catch it through Saturday.
