Nintendo has announced the surprise release of Rhythm Heaven Megamix on Nintendo 3DS eShop via its E3 Treehouse livestream and official launch trailer. Megamix combines minigames from previous entries in the series, including the never localized Game Boy Advance game. These games, along with some brand new ones, are wrapped up in a new story mode, while a multiplayer mode, a first for the series, can be played with only a single game download. A free demo has also been made available for download, so players are able to try before they buy. Check out the launch trailer below for a better look at the title:

No physical copy? Japan got one so we should too, especially as all the others we got were physical too.

This game looks great. The wackiness reminds me of the old WarioWare games that were so strangely addicting. I do wish that it was a bit cheaper, though, especially since it looks like it’s going to be an eshop-only game.

yeah these games are great. I imported the first DS game long ago, and it was well worth it. Really bummed there is no physical version!

I picked up the American version of the DS game a couple months ago at Gamestop, but I haven’t gotten around to playing it yet. Originally, that game flew under the radar for me, but I’ve been interested in trying the series ever since I saw the mini-game with the pro wrestler. I still can’t help but laugh when I see it.
