Kodomo no Jikan | Omnibus Vol. 1

Digital Manga’s PeCChi imprint has launched a Kickstarter in order to bring Kodomo no Jikan ~ A Child’s Time to the west. The Kickstarter is looking to raise $157,000 in order to bring the full series to the west.

PeCChi is looking to release all 13 volumes of Kaworu Watashiya’s manga in the West. The manga would be released in five omnibus volumes.

After the original goal, there are 4 additional stretch goals. The goals include addition of colored pages, improved paper quality and a hardcover release complete with dust jacket.

Rewards for backing the project including copies of the omnibus as well as other merchandise including: a poster, a clear file, tote bag, rubber charms, a blanket, pillow case, and art by Kaworu Watashiya.

A synopsis for the series is provided by PeCChi:

Newly hired Aoki Daisuke becomes a teacher to a 3rd grade class after the previous quits. He thought teaching was going to be a breeze until he meets troublemaker Rin Kokonoe. Rin wreaks havoc on Daisuke’s job by attempting to seduce him. Due to Rin’s odd behavior, Daisuke decides to make a visit to her caretaker. Little does he know, Rin has a traumatic past hidden away behind her innocent face.

Kodomo no Jikan is a school life comedy by day, and a psychological drama by night. As Daisuke attempts to remedy the complex challenges his students face outside of school grounds, the reader is forced to ask oneself, is Rin really just an innocent child? Or was Daisuke the innocent one after all?

Kodomo no Jikan is written by Kaworu Watashiya. It was published by Futabasha and first released in 2005. The manga was originally licensed for release in the west by Seven Seas Entertainment under the title Nymphet. The original western release was cancelled due to some of the content featured in the manga.

If the Kickstarter goal is reached, PeCChi is looking to release the manga in October 2017.

If you are interested in backing this project at all, please check out the Kickstarter page HERE.

The project has currently raised $45,873 of its $157,000 goal.
