Sega has released new details for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone. The information this time focuses on hairstyle customization and a new “Survival Course” mode.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone will release in Japan via the PlayStation Store. The main application for the game will be titled “Prelude” and will be available for free and comes with 2 songs and 40 modules.
In addition to the main application there are two content packs. The content packs are titled “Future Sound” and “Colorful Tone.” Both packs cost 3,900 yen each (4,212 yen with tax). That converts to about $38.32.
The “Future Sound” pack adds a selection of songs from the Project DIVA series and comes with around 120 songs and over 200 modules. The “Colorful Tone” pack adds a selection of songs from the Project DIVA Arcade and Project Mirai Series and comes with around 100 songs and over 100 modules.
In order to access the hairstyle customization feature and the “Survival Course” mode, either the “Future Sound” or “Colorful Tone” pack must be purchased.

Hairstyle Customization
With the new hairstyle customization feature, you can now customize the hairstyle of any module you choose. This means you can now use your favorite hairstyle from one module and use it with your favorite costume from another one. In previous games, modules came with preset hairstyles and you could not change them.
(Note: Some modules are not compatible with the hairstyle customization feature. You cannot swap hairstyles between characters. So you can’t give Hatsune Miku any of Kagamine Rin’s hairstyles.)
Survival Course
Survival Course is a brand new mode not featured in any previous Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA game. In this mode, players are given only one life gauge and they must clear one song after another. The songs are stacked according to the course chosen by the player and are played in random order. The only song that the player can select is the one the player wants to play first. Both your life gauge and combo count carry over once you finish a song. After you clear all the songs you will clear the course. This is definitely a great addition for veteran players of the series.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone is set to release in Japan on June 23 for PS4.
