The film will be directed by Fumihiko Sori who says, “I want to create a style that follows the original manga as much as possible. The cast is entirely Japanese, but the cultural background is Europe. However, it’s a style that doesn’t represent a specific race or country.” The director seems to understand what fans want and shares the same vision for the movie.

Fullmetal Alchemist tells the story of two brothers who use magic to revive a loved one. Things go wrong and they must journey to find an item to return the younger brother’s spirit back to his body. If you haven’t watched the anime, I urge you to do so.

Fullmetal Alchemist will come to theaters Winter 2017 in Japan.
