Suikoden Revival

The Suikoden Revival Movement has contacted oprainfall about their newest campaign efforts to bring fans together for the Suikoden franchise. The most recent efforts are to bring Suikoden to PC via Steam. The campaign has a plan for this and they have sent a press release to tell fans how they can get involved:

On Friday, June 3rd, the Suikoden Revival Movement will lead the charge on a 24-hour bombarding of Konami’s US, UK, and (most importantly) JP social media feeds with messages containing the #SuikodenOnSteam hashtag. As the hashtag suggests, our goal is to encourage Konami to give the Suikoden franchise new life on Steam, which will make it available to tens of thousands of potential new fans.

Tell your friends, tell your family. See you on June 3rd, campaigners!

What’s funny is PC versions of the first two Suikoden games DO exist in Asian territories even if they are a bit rare and hard to find nowadays. I still need to finish Suikoden II, great game!

I love how passionate Suikoden fans are. A steam release of Trails in the Sky seemed to revive interest in that series, so this is a great idea.

If anything, this will hopefully bring awareness back to the series. Grabbing a new generation of people that have never played or even heard of the series would be great.

One problem with this.. This is Konami we’re talking about here. I don’t think they give a crap about this franchise. It’ll make a good pachinko machine to them and that’s about it.

Well Momotaro Dentetsu is getting a new game. One of the developpers came out a while back and made a comment on how he couldn’t get the greenlight from Konami for new games. Now a new one is coming. Why is this important? Momotaro Dentetsu is a long running Hudson soft game. It could be the beginning of some good things to come.

This is pretty big news. Is this a new console game, or mobile?
