Azure Striker Gunvolt 2

Azure Striker Gunvolt released last Summer to a pretty great reception, gaining a new audience and selling well enough for Inti Creates to merit a sequel. Seen by many as a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Zero series, but with its own style and a compelling combat system, it was a great 3DS exclusive, and one I quite enjoyed. Now with the news that the sequel, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, is slated to release Summer 2016, my hype level is rising, especially after looking at the great new concept art and finding out that this sequel will have two leading ladies as Muses.

Azure Striker Gunvolt | Joule

First up, Joule AKA Lumen (VA by Megu Sakuragawa) is reprising her role as Gunvolt’s moral support and confidant, but this time as a spiritual entity. Since she essentially died in the first game, she resides as a spirit inside Gunvolt’s body. Talk about an intimate relationship! However, she’s not the only Muse in this game. Since Copen is now a playable character, it wouldn’t feel right for him to be bereft of a Muse, now would it?

Azure Striker Gunvolt | Lola
Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl…

Lola (VA by Yurika Endou) is a completely new face to the series, and I personally love her Phoenix aesthetic. She is a ACP or Autonomous Combat Pod, in control of regulating Copen’s combat drones. She is a sprightly and somewhat innocent character, no doubt from interacting with Copen’s younger sister.

That’s it for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 for now, but stay tuned to oprainfall for more news as it is revealed about this fantastic looking sequel.
