Great Detective Pikachu

Great Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Combination has been announced for the 3DS. At the moment there is only a set release date for Japan. It’s to be released on the eShop next week on February 3rd, with the chance to preload it starting tomorrow. The game is priced at 1,500 yen. The idea of a game starring Pikachu with detective or puzzle elements had been going around for a while so it’s nice to see the game finally showing up. A trailer for the game’s announcement was also released.

Great Detective Pikachu’s plot will be about a boy named Tim who travels to Rhyme City where both people and Pokemon reside. As he makes it to the city he meets Pikachu and the two pair up. Not much has been shown or said of the game play, other than the game being described as a “cinematic adventure”.

I thought that was a great trailer, although I was not expecting Pikachu to sound like that.

About Walter P

Plays too much, but still has too many games to finish. Will play any type of game and will watch anything, so is of course not good at being productive. Loves anything crazy.

Ohmygah. That might be one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. I really kind of want it to come over to the west now.

I’m surprised it took this long. Didn’t they first tease this around 3 years ago?

Who here wants Steven Blum to do the English dub voice of Pikachu if this game (hopefully) comes West? God, that would be hilarious.

A friend of mine suggested Samuel L. Jackson. It would be fitting. Because enough is enough.
