In case you didn’t know and were interested in going back to school, there might not be a better time than right now. Yeah, we know it’s the holidays and you might be on vacation, but tuition is cheap right now because Class of Heroes 2G for Playstation 3 is currently 50% off listed price on the North American Playstation Store. And if you’re a PS Plus member, you can save an additional 10% on top of that. In case you haven’t been studying math while you’ve been in class (of heroes), you only pay $17.99 if you’re a member of that prestigious group. So if you’re into dungeon crawlers, own a PS3 and don’t have this gem of a game, this is the perfect time to pick it up.

In case you don’t know what Class of Heroes is, it’s a dungeon crawler series with a bit of a twist on the standard fantasy theme. In it, your characters attend school and choose a ‘major’, which is essentially the same as a job or class in other games (fighter, mage, etc.). Other traits you choose when creating your party are race, gender, stats and alignment. Once you have your band of warriors assembled and you get some starting equipment, you set off in search of adventure and materials to either sell or craft into better gear. The university your characters attend serves as a home point and activity hub, and wiping results in a respawn back at campus. Combat is turn based, old school fare that has served this genre well over the years. Class of Heroes 2G is a PS3 upgrade of Class of Heroes 2, which debuted originally on the PSP a few years earlier. The PS3 port sports all the same features that the robust sequel offered along with more dungeons, skills, party members and a full voice cast.

Class of Heroes 2G is currently available on Playstation Store for the Sony Playstation 3, developed by Aquire and Zero Division and published in the west by the good folks over at Gaijinworks. And if you’re interested in any of the other games in the series, so are Class of Heroes and Class of Heroes 2 (PSP/PSV). The sale is only for Class of Heroes 2G, however, and it ends on January 5, 2016. So if you’re gonna get it, snag it quick. Physical copies are out there but they’re pretty rare and getting pricey so the digital version’s a good option for lots of folks, especially after Christmas.
