Star Fox Zero

Nintendo Direct

Nintendo has scheduled a new Nintendo Direct and, in classic Nintendo Direct fashion, will air two days from now on November 12th worldwide at 5 PM EST/2 PM PST/10 PM GMT. It will focus on upcoming Wii U and 3DS releases.

If it feels like we haven’t had one of these in a while, that’s because we haven’t. Nintendo Directs usually come out regularly on an almost monthly basis. Sometimes, they come out with three of them in a single month!

The last of these Directs was in June, a.k.a. their unofficial E3 Press Conference. The gap in the release is undoubtedly in deference to the passing of Nintendo CEO and the face of Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata, in July.

It is unknown as to who will be the new host of Nintendo Direct. It’s unlikely to be the new CEO of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima. His background in Nintendo is on the financial side, unless he has some secret showmanship skills that we don’t know about. The most likely candidates are either Shigeru Miyamoto or Reggie Fils-Aime. The two have regularly been the voice of Nintendo on various occasions, usually alongside Iwata.

As for what’s in the Direct itself, we’ll likely hear more about Star Fox Zero, Genei Ibun Roku #FE (perhaps even the official name), Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. These games were featured during their E3 Nintendo Direct but have yet to be released. Here’s to hoping they’ll talk more about their upcoming Legend of Zelda as well and clear up the ambiguity once and for all as to which console it will call home.

Karli Winata
Karli Winata is an avid gamer with a taste for a little bit of everything. Except for sports games. And racing sims. And definitely not hidden object games! I guess everything is too broad a term. Suffice it to say that he has been known to play hours of Call of Duty multiplayer in between bouts of Persona fusing and Star Coin collecting while saving the world/galaxy through sensibly bald space marines or plucky teenagers with impossible hairstyles. Where does he find the time to write about them?
