SMT IV Final | Protagonist

The fine folks at Atlus have given the internet an official website for the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS RPG Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final. The game takes place some time during the third decade of the 21st century, roughly 25 years after the war between angels and demons decimated the planet Earth. In the story, Tokyo is spared from the destructive conflict by a great (and likely mystical) stone barrier. However, closing Tokyo off from the rest of the world has made resources scarce and as a result the city has transformed into a dystopian wasteland in decline. The Protagonist is killed during a demon hunt but is resurrected by an entity named Daguza under the condition that he agrees to become a ‘god killer’. This is a sequel to Shin Megami Tensei IV and takes place in the same world as that game. There will not be a three tiered morality system with a strict Law or Chaos endings, but will instead have a more ambiguous set of decisions to make, with multiple resulting outcomes.

The official website, completely in Japanese, focuses on media events related to the game’s marketing as well as some character details and screenshots, the latter of which we have kindly gathered for you to peruse right here.
