Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Ultimate Box

An impressive edition right there.

During the Star Ocean stage event at Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix announced a new collector’s edition, the “Ultimate Box,” for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. Though pricey at ¥25,000, the edition — available for both PS3 and PS4 versions — is jam-packed with collectibles and bonus items. In addition to the game itself, the Ultimate Box comes with:

  • Miki Special Figure — An 8+ inch figure of Miki, a lead female of Star Ocean 5
  • The Art of Star Ocean — An 80-page art book full of illustrations, artwork, etc.
  • Soundtrack — The five-disc soundtrack in a special case
  • Postcards — Eight postcards with illustrations and CG featuring characters and locales from Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
  • Pangalactic Federation ID Card — A plastic license card with a unique ID number
  • Original DLC Download Code — Downloadable content that alters the music in game to sound like music from earlier entries in the Star Ocean series

Quite the impressive array of goodies! Though the series has not seen much action or received any fanfare since The Last Hope: International released in 2010, this new fifth entry in the series can hopefully bring some new life into the franchise. Pre-orders for the Ultimate Box are now available at Square Enix’s Japanese e-Store. The game is set to launch in Japan on February 25 for both PS3 and PS4, and it is set to come to North America and Europe at a later date in 2016 (not necessarily the Box, but the game will release here). I almost hate to admit it, but I’m a rabid enough SO fanboy that I might just pick that CE up if Square Enix produces it for localization markets.

  • Superr Mann

Why can’t America get the box edition?

    • Draco Breach

To be fair, we don’t even have a release date yet for NA. We’ll have to wait and see what Square Enix brings to their online store for localization. Why? Because we *know* SE will make the CE exclusive to their online store.

Can’t wait to hear a NA announce date.
