Atlus announced previously that Vocaloid Superstar, Hatsune Miku, would join the cast of Persona 4: Dancing All Night. That is correct your eyes do not deceive you, Hatsune Miku will actually be appearing in a Persona game, albeit a rhythm game spin-off. Miku will come to the game with a brand new design as well as a remix of “Heaven” from Persona 4. The song will be called “Heaven feat. Hatsune Miku (ATOLS Remix)”.
Miku stars in her very own series of rhythm games Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA and the most recent iterations Project DIVA f and Project DIVA f 2nd both released for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 worldwide. Atlus decided to try their hand at a new type of genre for the Persona series and what better DLC character is there then veteran of the genere, Hatsune Miku.
Connections have previously been drawn between this game and the Project DIVA series, due to the fact that the developers of Project DIVA, Dingo, used to work on Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Those connections are even stronger now that Hatsune Miku herself will actually be physically in the game. The inclusion of Hatsune Miku will certainly draw some more eyes toward this game and Persona 4: Dancing All Night will certainly benefit from her inclusion. A short reveal trailer was released by Atlus showcasing some of Miku’s dance moves and a piece of the “Heaven” song remix which she will be dancing too. The trailer can be seen below.
The trailer revealed that Hatsune Miku would be available to download in Japan on August 27. This news of Hatsune Miku being released as DLC is not only exciting for fans in Japan but also in the North America and Europe as well. The main reason being there is a large possibility that the DLC will come West.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night will release in North America on September 29 and Europe sometime Q3/Q4 2015.
So are you excited to see Hatsune Miku in Persona 4: Dancing All Night? As a huge fan of Hatsune Miku it is great to see her getting more exposure in other series and believe she will make an excellent addition to the game. Atlus did a great job with her new design and I am especially looking forward to her remix of “Heaven” which was a great song from Persona 4.
