Last week, we reported Freedom Planet’s arrival on the Wii U was going to be delayed. There is good news for both Wii U fans and for people who have not purchased Freedom Planet. The game is not going to be delayed for long as Stevie DiDuro of Galaxy Trail officially confirmed the game’s release on the Wii U over Twitter today:

The game will be on the eShop August 13th. While we do not know the price yet, my guess is the game will likely cost $14.99 since that is the current price of the game on Steam. Freedom Planet has been praised since its release last year. As mentioned before, the game is a 2D platformer with inspirations from the classic Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis games, but it puts its own original twists to the formula.
