Over the weekend at the DOA Festival in Japan, Team Ninja announced that Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball 3 was currently in development. This made fans of the series very happy since there hasn’t been a new entry in the series in quite a while. However this would soon turn into a bit of anger and frustration for Western fans since the official Dead or Alive Facebook page posted that the game was being made for Japanese and Asian markets only. Now they have made announced like this in past with games like Fatal Frame V and later changed their minds and localized the title, so I don’t think this is set in stone. But I guess only time will tell.

You can check out the official post on Facebook for more information. And if you wanna see this title localized, it probably wouldn’t hurt anything if you left a comment POLITELY asking for the game.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.

Sounds like the PC police and SJWs interfered.

    • Γεώργιος Αρχαιοκαπηλίδης

Nah. Japanese companies don’t give a damn about SJWs. It’s the western companies that try to appeal SJWs.

I have put in a lot more time into the fighting games and don’t personally care for the Xtreme series. With the negative reception Xtreme 2 received 9 years and now approaching 10 years ago, I don’t see Koei Tecmo taking a chance with the Western market with this series as they know the series gained a bad reputation with the mainstream outlets. The game forced them to change the artistic style of DOA 5 in an attempt to appeal to fans outside of Japan. However, this is the chance for any fans of the Xtreme series to let their voice be heard if they want it outside of Japan.

yeah… but the actual gameplay, by that i mean the Volley Ball stuff make it the best Volley Ball game ever made. many of the western fans are fans of that, less so for the T&A.

Maybe they’re still learning how to not to make ankles look dislocated.
