Tekken X Street Fighter

Five years ago, Tekken X Street Fighter was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con. Since then, things have been mostly silent about the game, which has lead some fans to think the project was abandoned. Well, as a recent issue of Famitsu has shown, that isn’t the case.

In the issue there is an interview with Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. In it, he is asked whether or not they’ve forgotten about Tekken X Street Fighter. The developer responded:

That’s not true! I’ve been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we’re at a pretty far stage into its development. It might seem like we haven’t started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago, and we’ve already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems.

One thing he also mentioned is that, with Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 coming out as well, they’re having difficulty deciding the timing of releasing Tekken X Street Fighter. Because of that, fans might have a difficult time deciding which game they want to play.

One thing’s for sure: between this game, Street Fighter V, and debuting in Smash Bros., Ryu is going to be a really busy guy for the foreseeable future.
