Smash Bros. | Lucas

Nintendo announced on their Facebook page this morning that Smash Bros. Brawl veteran Lucas will be joining the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS roster next Sunday, June 14. Plans to bring Mother 3’s hero were first announced during the Nintendo Direct on April 1, though today is the first we’d heard anything new since then.

Smash Bros. | Splatoon

Lucas isn’t the only DLC coming to Smash Bros. next Sunday, though. In the same announcement, Nintendo also revealed that the Splatoon outfits for Mii Fighters shown during the May 7 Nintendo Direct will be made available to customers who pre-ordered the squid-based shooter.

Smash Bros. | Miiverse Stage

Not only that, but the game’s Miiverse stage, first shown during the Smash Bros. Direct last October will also be downloadable alongside Lucas and the Inkling outfits.

The Lucas DLC will be available on June 14 starting at 8 a.m. PT, while the Splatoon outfits and Miiverse stage will be made available in a separate game update. The price point will be the same as the Mewtwo DLC before it; $3.99 for either the 3DS or Wii U version of the game or $4.99 for both.

Will you be taking advantage of the new addition to the roster? Let us know in the comments.

About Tyler Lubben

Tyler is a lifelong gamer, getting his start on the Intellivision when he was three years old. After receiving his English degree, he discovered all those jokes about getting a job in his field were true. As Head Editor with oprainfall, Tyler is able to bridge his two passions; playing and talking about video games at any given opportunity, and being a total grammar nazi the rest of the time.

  • Joseph Foley

    Yep I am.

  • Josh S.

I prefer Ness, but I’ll give Lucas a little attention as well 😀 I love those Splatoon costumes!

  • Tara

I’ll be grabbing Lucas, of course… but right now, I do wonder if/when we’ll see more DLC characters. Lucas is a great return/addition and all, but never really been one of my favorites when it comes down to it.
