Shortly after announcing that Hideo Kojima will not be working on any future installments of Metal Gear or any Konami projects, Konami has teased a new, possibly remake, for a game titled Metal Gear Solid The 1984 Edition via Twitter. The first game of the series titled Metal Gear was first released in Japan in 1987 for the MSX2 computer. Metal Gear has then been released a few times since packaged with the HD releases of Metal Gear Solid 3 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360.

This leads me to believe that with the departure of Hideo Kojima, Konami, will add a prequel to the series and take the story of Snake and Big Boss into their own hands. We’ll be sure to update you as the story develops.
