Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer | oprainfall

One of the games announced during the April 1 Nintendo Direct was Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, an Animal Crossing spin-off title for the 3DS.

The game will have you designing homes for various people — erm… folks around town, according to the requests of its citizens. Most notably, the game will make use of amiibo, but not how we’re used to: Nintendo will be releasing a series of amiibo cards to be used with the game. Scanning the card for a specific character will allow players to design a room for said character, and scanning cards for additional characters thereafter will allow those characters to come and visit the house. Players can then watch the characters interact, and even take and save pictures of the room and its inhabitants.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and its amiibo card series will be released for the 3DS this fall. The same day will see the release of the NFC reader/writer accessory, allowing amiibo interaction with older 3DS models.
