Monster Tale DS

Monster Tale Ultimate is set to improve upon a Nintendo DS gem.

Monster Tale Ultimate, a remake of the Nintendo DS game Monster Tale, is on its way to Nintendo 3DS eShop. The game followed a young girl and her adopted monster companion on a quest to find a way home in a monster-filled world. The game featured action, platforming, and monster-raising with a large world to explore and power-ups to collect. Developer DreamRift, who have previously worked on Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, are hoping to improve upon the original with new areas to explore, improved graphics, 3D support, and a new orchestrated soundtrack, in addition to the original soundtrack.

Monster Tale is one of my favorite DS games and it is great to see it get an update for returning players and anyone who missed out on the original. Monster Tale Ultimate is set for release on Nintendo 3DS eShop this Spring.

This was a pleasant surprise to read. I loved this game, lots of charm, so I’m glad it’s getting another chance. I doubt I’ll play it again, but if I did I would double-dip.

Absolutely loved the original, despite short length and backtracking. A great premise that can really shine with a update. Especially if it gets a couple new bosses and areas! Will totally buy this once it comes out. Dreamrift are talented folks, despite the failure of Epic Mickey. They also did Henry Hatsworth, another great game set in the same universe as Monster Tale.
