Ugh! Right to our hearts! 🙁

Those eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Zelda series in the holiday season will have to wait until next year until they can dawn their swords and venture forth.  The Legend of Zelda for Wii U was slated as being one of the biggest releases of the 2015 year, however a delay in the release of the game will possibly make it a big title for 2016.

Series producer Eiji Aonuma released a video statement containing information relating to the game’s development stating that a 2015 launch is no longer the “number one priority.”  Aonuma explains in the video that new ideas for The Legend of Zelda for Wii U and the sheer scale of the project has prompted them to this decision. The ultimate goal of the project is to produce the best game possible and “make it the ultimate and most complete Zelda game” with new ideas and its large, open world experience.

It’s funny that this is happening considering Nintendo NX’s announcement since the last Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, was not released until the tail end of the Wii life cycle.

Are you frustrated with this recent announcement or are you okay with waiting for a polished game?  Weigh in below.
