Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D | 3DS

It seems that the Majora’s Mask Edition New 3DS system may be getting restocked. This information comes from a couple of sources, so if you still want one of these, it may be worth your time to read on and check them out.

According to GoNintendo.com, the Majora’s Mask Edition New 3DS system is available on Nintendo’s UK store. I checked myself, and the bundle is indeed listed on the Nintendo UK Store for £209.99, and will ship this month. The bundle comes with the limited edition Skull Kid figurine and a charger cord as well. The preview image includes a red circle that says “New Stock Delivery March 2015“. This is good if you happen to be in the UK, but not so good otherwise, since the 3DS systems are region locked.

The other source is an update that also came from GoNintendo.com a bit later today (sourcing a post from Neogaf). The update says that they confirmed with a local GameStop manager that they are getting a new (but very limited) shipment of the Majora’s Mask Edition New 3DS systems on March 25th. It seems they will, for the first time, be available in-store as well. The post on Neogaf says they are very limited (1 per customer and 4 per store). Also, if you manage to get one, remember that in North America, the Majora’s Mask Edition New 3DS does not come with a copy of Majora’s Mask 3D for some crazy reason!

This is believed to be the final shipment of this special edition of the New 3DS system. Though this is not for certain, it would likely be wise to treat it as though it is the final shipment. You would be well-advised to call your local GameStop store to confirm whether your local store will be receiving a new shipment of the Majora’s Mask Edition New 3DS system or not.

I had very much wanted to get my hands on one of these, but a couple weeks ago, I decided it wasn’t really worth the headache anymore (and I certainly wasn’t going to pay stupid amounts of money to a scalper for one!) However, there is an alternative route that you can go, which is what I ended up doing. You can get some vinyl face plates that will make the system look just like the Majora’s Mask Edition New 3DS systems.

The decals for the inside of the system look plain in the image above, but when I received mine, they had designs on them similar to those on the corners of the decal for the top of the system. I personally chose not to use the inside decals, and instead left the inside of my Black New 3DS with its natural black aesthetic. I’m quite happy with these face plates, and here is a link to where I got them. Given how hard the real thing is to get, I figured I ought to share this with my fellow Zelda fans out there!

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
