Dungeons II | oprainfall

Dungeons 2, the next entry in Kalypso Entertainment’s Dungeons franchise is nearly here. If you enjoyed Dungeons or Dungeons: The Dark Lord, or are a fan of the Dungeon Keeper games, you should check this game out. Dungeons 2 has just entered its pre-order window and everyone gets 10% off (lowering the price to $35.99) for pre-ordering. Also, the game’s Steam Store page shows that there are 3 pre-order bonuses that will unlock as more people pre-order the game. Dungeons 2 is set to launch on April 24th and is available for pre-order both on Steam and at retailers, such as Amazon.

The fearsome Dungeon Lord is back, but in Dungeons 2 he’s getting serious. You can exact your terrible revenge by recruiting many fearsome new monsters from all over the underworld. They will do your bidding to help you bring your dark designs to fruition. Ruling the underworld is no longer enough for the Dark Lord, though. This time, the Dark Lord will attempt to extend his rule to the overworld and conquer the puny humans that call it home.

That pathetic overworld is just waiting to be conquered!

As the mighty Dungeon Lord, it is up to you to craft a terrifying and deadly network of tunnels and chambers to create your devious dungeon of doom. You will need to defend it from heroes who dare to venture into its depths, but unlike the original Dungeons games, you no longer need to worry about keeping the heroes happy. Instead, you need to keep your monster minions happy. When you’re ready, you can take the fight above ground and wage war on the human cities. Using the Hand of Terror, you can issue commands to your minions, take direct control of them, or dish out a hellish slap to keep them in line.

Welcome to your home, the underworld

Dungeons 2 adds many new creatures to the game, as well as new room types and traps to use in your devious dungeons. There are 2 playable factions in the single player campaign and four multiplayer modes (via LAN and the internet) for up to four players. The underworld gameplay is a dungeon management simulation similar to the original Dungeons games, but the overworld gameplay is more of a real-time tactical strategy game.

Your glorious throne!

All in all, Dungeons 2 is looking to be a great sequel to the original Dungeons games with lots of new creatures and interesting new gameplay as well. I quite enjoyed the original Dungeons games so I am excited to dig in to this one when it comes out. Are you ready to rule the underworld with an iron fist and conquer the overworld?

Below is the trailer from the game’s website (and it should be noted that there are 3 trailers on the Dungeons 2 page on Steam).

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
