Danganronpa

Danganronpa has been a break-out hit among fans of both anime and murder mysteries. Not only does it have a bright cast of varied characters, but the murder-school angle means that if you don’t like a character there are chances that they will die horribly.

However, in a recent interview, one lucky fellow at nichegamer.com got to sit down with the series creator Kazutaka Kodaka and a translator from NIS America to discuss the inspiration, ideas, and future of the series. He talks about the sequel Another Story and how he would like to make an RPG set in the game’s world.

He’s personally a fan of action games and RPGs, so he wanted to make an action game this time, so that’s what it ended up being. In the future, he’d like to make an RPG, too, using this world. It’s just limited by what he wants to do, so whatever he wants to do, he will do. To answer your question more directly: there are opportunities for other things besides straight visual novels.

It’s exciting stuff for fans who want more of the Danganronpa world. And it’s always good to see creators who want to expand their work beyond predictable route, so it should be worth looking forward to.

Beyond that, there’s some other fun stuff here too, discussing cosplay, doujins, the possibility of a Danganronpa RPG, and even thoughts on the Persona series.
