Atelier Shallie | oprainfall

Koei Tecmo Europe has offered up the opening sequence for Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea on YouTube in glorious 1080p. The trailer features beautiful character artwork and animation rich in color, all set to a soft and haunting melody called ‘Rusty Sky,’ performed by the artist Sen. Fans of the series should be pleased at how the material is presented in the preview. While the video itself doesn’t offer any hints of the game’s story or provide any insight into the cast, its somber tone is beguiling and hints at what may be a sad and forlorn tale when it’s all said and done.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea is part of the ‘Dusk’ series of Atelier games and takes place six years after Atelier Escha and Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. The story tells of two alchemists with differing goals who end up crossing paths. One of them, Shallistera Argo, is working to alleviate the town’s burdens through her knowledge of alchemy, while the other one, Shallotte Elminus, is more career-oriented and focused on her advancement as a proper alchemist. The game will focus on the friendship that grows between the two characters and how they will have to work together in order to succeed.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is out right now for Sony PlayStation 3 in North America, and will be available on March 13 in Europe.  The game was developed by Gust and is being released by NISA.

Really smart, talks too much, loves the video games and the Star Wars and the Game of Thrones, likes the manga and some anime and knows that Kentaro Miura's Berserk is the greatest thing ever made.
