Was anyone worried about not being able to play the Wii version of Rodea the Sky Soldier and may probably prefer to play it with a Wii Remote? Put that fear to rest! Officially confirmed by a press release, NIS America has confirmed that Rodea the Sky Soldier on Wii U will have the Wii version boxed in the first print of it in western shores.

This was earlier confirmed for the Japanese release. Now you can officially enjoy it if you live in North America and Europe! Rodea The Sky Soldier is a flight shooter game made by the critically acclaimed developer Yuji Naka at Prope Ltd. who developed games like the earlier Sonic the Hedgehog games and NiGHTS: Into Dreams. The unreleased Wii version of the game has been in what users call “development hell” for years but now it’s being cleaned up with the decision to release on the current generation of Nintendo systems, the 3DS and Wii U with the addition of the Wii version of Rodea the Sky Soldier people may have wanted to play since it’s first initial look in 2011. Is this new unreleased Wii version that will be boxed with the game an incentive for you to pick up Rodea the Sky Soldier at launch? Thanks for the gift NIS America!

Rodea the Sky Soldier releases on Wii U and 3DS in April in Japan and releases to the west at a later date this year. It’s about freaking time too.

Lois is a forward thinking but old school gamer from New Jersey (who loves Kevin Smith movies as a member of that state!) who is partially of Japanese descent and she's totally glamorous. She's been gaming for practically as long as she's been alive with a early-on fascination for Kid Icarus as her favorite franchise. She's a total hipster for Nintendo as well appreciating cult classics from them. She definitely has a soft spot for JRPGs, which is an obvious inspiration why she joined the campaign of Operation Rainfall at it's launch. Xenoblade Chronicles then became another one of her favorite franchises as the result of this. She's a gamer who demands quality and charm out of her games because if she doesn't get it she will let it be known.
