It starred Donkey Kong and his friends as the protected the mythical Crystal Coconut from the evil King K. Rool and his henchmen. Originally animated in France, it ran for 2 seasons starting in 1996 in the United States.
Well, if you were a fan, then good news for you. Donkey Kong Country – The Complete 1st Season, is coming out on DVD. The collection is being released by Phase 4 Films as a 3-disk set, and is set to be out on May 12th. While the animation is probably really dated by now, it still might be worth checking out if you were a fan of the series.
