Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea - Characters

The release of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is fast approaching. To celebrate, the developers have released new information about one of the game’s two protagonists, Shallotte Elminus, and several of her companions.

Our protagonist, Shallotte, is described as perky and free spirited. She runs her deceased father’s alchemy workshop and makes ends meet by taking freelance alchemy jobs from her mother’s network. She’s not the most experienced alchemist in the world though. Thankfully, she’s got friends to help her out.

Friends like: Miruca Crotze, a skilled alchemist who studied in Central City. Miruca is described as a little distant and can keen be a little mean sometimes. Despite this, she’s always a big help to Shallotte and gives good advice to the fledgeling alchemist.

Her other major companion (and probably the most ridiculous looking character in the game so far) is a traveling magician named Wilbell Vol-Erslied. Like Miruca, she serves as a mentor to Shallotte. She’s older than she looks and has a good deal of experience. When she’s not tutoring the protagonist, she spends most of her free time questing about the Dusk land for spirit magic.

There are other characters as well such as Solle Grumman who works for the government, the merchant Katla Larchica, and the treasure hunters Homura and Reyfer Luckberry.

Of course, they did more then just talk about the game’s characters; Koei Tecmo also announced some pre-order bonuses to go with the game. Pre-ordering through GameStop will get you an exclusive DLC set. This set will include a new costume based on Escha Malier’s, who was the protagonist of Atelier Escha and Logy, a Flower Pareo costume, a special selection of Atelier series music, and a Passion Dress. Pre-ordering through Amazon on the other hand will get you two music compilations. The game is set to release in North America on March 10th for the PS3.
