The Last Guardian

Some interesting news coming from an interview with the director of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, Fumito Ueda, in this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation. The game creator was asked what the most memorable title on the platform was, in which Uedo responded, “The Last Guardian, by which I mean all the hardships and the unforeseen amount of time required than what was originally thought.” The interview continued with a question about any memories on a title he’s worked on in 2014. Uedo replied, “Talks with Sony Computer Entertainment on The Last Guardian have been ironed out, and we’re making progress under completely new conditions. I’m also working on some other things that I’ll hopefully be able to show in time if progress is smooth.”

The Last Guardian, as many of us know, is the much anticipated game from Team Ico, announced back in 2009 and rarely talked about since with no news of a release date. Could this confirm that The Last Guardian is now being worked on for the PlayStation 4? Shuhei Yoshida never confirmed or denied the possibility of it last year during the PS4 launch.

Though this news isn’t anything too revealing, it’s good to hear that the game that a lot of fans, including myself, are very eager to play is still being worked on. How do you feel about The Last Guardian‘s possible new home on the PlayStation 4? Let us know in the comments.
