Suikoden II | oprainfall

A while back, Suikoden II appeared on the ESRB website leading some to speculate about the release of the title on PSN. Their hopes were destroyed when the ESRB listing was later removed. Well, it appears it has returned. Does this mean that it will really get a PSN release this time? I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, you can check out the ESRB listing and hope it stays this time.

Thanks to RPG Site for sharing this information on Twitter.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.

Eh, not sure how much I care at this point. If they put it out, I’ll consider getting it so I can protect my physical copy, but because they took so long on this, I bought a physical copy on eBay back in January.

But really, I’m not sure how much I believe this anymore. >.>

But seriously, what’s taking them so long with this? You’d figure Suikoden II would be a no-brainer to release on the PSN. The only alternative I can think of is if Konami was considering a remake instead (in which case a cheaper version on the PSN might poach sales. This is the reason, for instance, that Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was delayed for a PSN release in NA until Atlus decided not to localize the remake). *shrug* Ah well, at least finally more people will be able to play this game at a reasonable price.

I wouldn’t mind a PSN release for $10. It’s better than paying an arm and a leg for a physical copy.
Also, Atlus didn’t localize EP on PSP because it flopped in Japan.

My guess is they wanted to hype it up. I’ve been noticing live streams straight from Konami tweets and the like. I’d say they might even be thinking a new game. If they can get a lot of the younger generation interested.

I still have my original PS1 disk. One of the best RPGs of all time!
