Denki-Gai Episode 6 and 7 | Tsumorin and the gang

I am convinced that my talk of Denki-Gai dipping in quality may have been a bit of an overreaction on my part. Even if I didn’t really say anything particularly bad about those episodes, the article still gave across a negative tone. Episode 4 was better than I made it out to be and the only real negative was one joke. Episode 5, however, I do admit was below the normal standards but it was still decent. That being said, episodes 6 and 7 were great. Episode 6 was a slightly serious episode that still had some great moments in it, while episode 7 was just amazingly funny.

Can’t let you do that, Sensei…

Episode 6’s plot is admittedly a bit similar to part of the first episode’s. It is about Sensei being behind on time to finish a manga before the rookie of the year award. The gang notices this once they realized that she has not changed her uniform for a few days (as opposed to before where she just has several copies of the same uniform). So, similarly to the first episode, they decide to stay late to help her finish in time. While the basic plot structure is the same as the first episode’s, the execution is a lot better.

One particularly funny moment was a recurring gag about Sensei rolling on the ground and crying like a baby after being deprived of sleep. Normally, Hiotan is able to calm her down with her motherly instincts, but after ink is spilled on the final page, Hiotan starts crying like a baby as well. This leads to everyone else crying like babies until Umio stops them by crying himself, which causes everyone else to stop because of how awkward it is. Sensei’s girl power gag also returned where it kept being reduced over increasingly absurd actions like wiping her mouth with her sleeve or drinking the remaining tea from the bottle.

Denki-Gai Episode 6 and 7 | Monster Kill!

Episode 7 was a hot spring episode, and I probably don’t even need to say anymore. You could tell how the episode would go from there; a bunch of ecchi fanservice done in the most hilarious manner possible. Particularly, most of the female cast ends up mistakenly running outside naked while in a frenzy. They then end up becoming embarrassed. There is also a scene where Hiotan tries to ask Kantoku if he likes her, but somehow ends up wording it as “Do you like my boobs?” This ends up leading to Kantoku saying how he appreciates breasts of all shapes and sizes. Hiotan gets sad because it means he does not care particularly about her’s and responds by calling him a “boob pacifist” and a “boob hussy.”

Denki-Gai Episode 6 and 7 | Fanservice
And here is your fanservice shot of the week.

Really, I do not know what else to say about these recent episodes. The jokes were solid and the episodes were just plain fun to watch. I guess I could criticize them for relying too much on ecchi humor or having too many running gags. However, it is not as if I even dislike those things. It’s just a hilarious show, and it seems as if it will be staying that way.
