Rodea the Sky Soldier 03

One day after teasing Rodea: The Sky Soldier for the Wii U and 3DS, Famitsu has revealed the first images of the newly revealed game from developer Prope and Sonic co-creator Yuji Naka. In addition to the images, publisher Kadokawa has revealed a number of details about the game. The full details will be revealed when the new issue of Famitsu releases tomorrow in Japan. Here’s some of the details (translated).

About the story:

In the great sky floats the giant continent Garuda, painted naturally in the heavens. The inquisitive and great-hearted girl Aeon, who lives there, finds a mechanical soldier, once called a “Majin” in Garuda’s history, in some ruins from long ago. The robot, who calls himself Rodea, has an unclear memory, and his right arm has been completely destroyed…

At the same time, the mechanized empire Naga, above the ground, has crossed over and revived after 1000 years. Naga’s corps invade Garuda, and aim at the “Gravity Energy,” which is laying dormant in Garuda. Rodea and Aeon must face the mechanized empire for the confused and frightened citizens of Garuda.

What can we make of the remaining memories of Rodea, the “Fierce Battles of the Past” and “the girl who looks like Aeon?” The truth lies beyond these fierce battles, we think…

In addition to this, it was also said that the original Wii version will be included with all first print copies of the Wii U game. This was teased in some detail yesterday but wasn’t made clear until now.
